Your appointment

Prior to your appointment

Please note we do not see patients below the age of 10 years.

Two days (48 hours) prior to your appointment stop taking antihistamines as these can interfere with skin prick testing. You can continue to take all other regular medications.

Take photos of rashes or swellings to bring to your appointment.

If food allergy is suspected, bring in the packaging of any products, contact the manufacturer or restaurant, and bring in the food of concern as fresh food skin prick testing will be considered if deemed safe.

We do not see patients with vaccination hypersensitivity at this clinic.

Your appointment day

Please bring your referral letter, Medicare card and medications list.

For patients with suspected food allergies, please bring in any products that are suspected to have caused a reaction.

If available, please bring relevant specialist letters, medical discharge summaries, previous imaging and lung function reports, pathology results or photos of previous rashes or swellings.

Initial appointments usually last 30 – 45 minutes.

Allergen skin prick testing usually takes 20 minutes with results discussed at the appointment.

After your appointment

A detailed report will be sent to your referring doctor outlining the management plan.

Follow-up review appointments may be required for results or ongoing treatment.

If you conducted a remote telehealth consultation you will be contacted immediately following to make payment and book a review.
